6 Color CI Type Drum Flexo Printing Machine

6-Color CI Drum Type Flexo Printing Machine (Central Impression Flexo) is a high-quality and efficient printing machine used for printing on flexible materials. This machine is widely preferred in industries such as packaging and label printing.

CI Flexo Printing Machine

CI (Central Impression) design refers to a structure where printing drums rotate around a central point. This design ensures smooth and high-quality printing. A 6-color CI flexo printing machine can print six colors by using different inks for each printing unit.

Working Principle of the 6-Color CI Flexo Printing Machine

Central Impression Drum: This is the main component of the machine around which all printing units rotate. The material to be printed, such as film, paper, or cardboard, is stretched around this drum for printing. The central drum ensures the material remains stable during printing, thus enhancing print quality.

Printing Units: The CI flexo machine has separate printing units for each color. Photopolymer printing plates, called clichés, are used on these units. These plates are flexible materials used for ink transfer. Each printing unit includes an ink reservoir, a printing plate cylinder with the ink transfer cliché, and an anilox roller. The inks in these units provide printing in their respective colors.

Ink Transfer: Flexo printing uses low-viscosity inks that dry quickly. Ink transfer is carried out through the printing plates, which are flexible materials that transfer colored ink onto the surface. The ink is evenly distributed on the printing plate via the anilox roller in each unit.

Preparation of Printing Plates: The printing plates or clichés are made from photopolymer material. Plates are prepared for each color, and the patterns to be printed are engraved on their surface. Photopolymer plates form a type of mold through exposure to light. This mold creates raised areas where printing occurs.

Printing Process: As the printing material moves smoothly around the central drum, each printing unit applies its color. The color sequence is arranged according to the position of the printing units. Typically, this sequence is CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), but additional Pantone or special colors can also be used.

Drying and Cooling: In our flexo printing machine, after printing, the ink is usually dried rapidly using ultraviolet (UV) light or heat. The CI flexo machine is especially equipped with fast drying systems, which increase production speed.

Post-Processing: After printing, the material undergoes various processes such as cutting, rolling, lamination, etc., to become the final product.
